Philippe has more than 30 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance and actuarial consulting.
Philippe was Chief Risk Officer, member of the Executive Committee and Director of P&V Assurances for 7 years. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of Secura Belgian Re and a member of the Management Committee of QBE Re. Philippe chaired the Risk & Finance Committee of Assuralia for 6 years and was on the Board of the Institute of Actuaries in Belgium (IA|BE), of which he is a qualified member, for 10 years. Philippe also has over 20 years of experience in teaching reinsurance and risk management. He is currently in charge of the Enterprise Risk Management course and Reinsurance and Alternative Risk Transfers course of the master in actuarial sciences at UCL.
His main areas of expertise are:
- Risk management: risk management strategy, establishment of a risk appetite framework, ORSA, governance of models, operational risk management, internal model under pillar II, regulatory reports (RSR, SFCR…), actuarial function.
- Reinsurance: pricing and underwriting, reinsurance buying, establishment of reinsurance guidelines and underwriting rules, securitization in reinsurance, optimal reinsurance.
- Non-life insurance: estimation and review of technical provisions, solvency II calculations, pricing.
- Training and teaching.
- Miscellaneous: project management, coaching, board member.
